Train the Trainer Success!
What do Superman and your students have in common?
Well, 11 schools in Lubbock and 5 schools in Amarillo just found out!
Recently, the Texas Department of State Health Services sponsored two successful Train the Trainer events for the RISING UP: Coaching Program. In this team effort DSHS was able to pull together school counselors, community social workers, and various district personnel to not only learn about the RISING UP: Coaching Program, but also gain first hand experience in our student-driven curriculum.
The truth is, your students are exactly like Superman. They have amazing strengths, awesome superpowers! But bullying, low self-esteem, and suicidal ideation are quickly becoming their kryptonite. Like Superman, they have a choice. They can succumb to the negative powers of kryptonite or they can focus on building their strengths and finding ways to create growth in adversity.
We are proud of these educators for helping their students find ways to start RISING UP over such adversity and we are excited to see the impact of our peer-to-peer curriculum on each of their campuses.
