Long time supporter of the RISING UP: Coaching Program, Alileah Hoke, had been working for over a year to bring our ASCA inspired curriculum to her campus. As a school counselor she truly understood the value of peer-to-peer based programming and ultimately sold her principal on the idea of extending her guidance efforts using select 8th grade leaders.
In a training that lasted just under 3 hours Mrs. Hoke’s students were inspired to become RISING UP: Coaches, and also motivated to help 6th graders across her campus deal with fears, concerns, and other social issues. After this interactive experience Mrs. Hoke had this to say about our program and our staff:
