The Texas Department of State Health Services is coming on board to help students in Lubbock and Amarillo start RISING UP. This new partnership with the State of Texas will enable school counselors, social workers, and nurses to team together as they work to implement the RISING UP: Coaching Program at schools in surrounding areas. We will be offering two “Train the Trainer” sessions through this partnership – the Lubbock event will take place on 2.2.15 and the Amarillo event will follow on 2.3.15. Hosted by founder JC Pohl, this event provides attendees with a student-driven curriculum that will extend guidance efforts and help to provide bullying and suicide prevention tools to teenaged students. Come to this training to learn the benefits of peer-to-peer programming, how to teach the RISING UP curriculum, and determine strategies that you can use to implement the program on your campus.
